3 Stages National Level Exam Annual Cycle

Examination Pattern & Selection Stages

यूपीएससी सिविल सेवा परीक्षा मुख्य रूप से तीन चरणों (3 Stages) में आयोजित की जाती है:

⚠️ Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Prelims)

Objective Type / Screening Test

यह केवल एक Screening / Qualifying Test है। इसके अंक अंतिम Selection List (Final Merit List) में नहीं जोड़े जाते हैं। इसमें दो अनिवार्य (Compulsory) Papers होते हैं:

📄 Stage 2: Main Examination (Mains)

Written / Descriptive Type (1750 Marks)

यह लिखित वर्णनात्मक परीक्षा (Descriptive Examination) है। इसके अंक आपके अंतिम परिणाम निर्धारण में अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। इसमें कुल **9 Papers** होते हैं:

A. Qualifying Papers (केवल पास होना अनिवार्य - 25% Marks)

Paper A: Indian Language

Any 1 Indian Language from 8th Schedule of Constitution

300 Marks (Qualifying)

Paper B: English Language

Comprehension, Precis, Usage & Short Essay

300 Marks (Qualifying)

B. Papers Counted for Final Merit Ranking (1750 Total Marks)

Paper I: Essay

2 Essays on Diverse & Contemporary Topics

250 Marks

Paper II: General Studies I

Indian Heritage, History, Geography & Society

250 Marks

Paper III: General Studies II

Governance, Constitution, Polity & Social Justice

250 Marks

Paper IV: General Studies III

Economy, Science & Tech, Environment & Security

250 Marks

Paper V: General Studies IV

Ethics, Integrity & Aptitude

Paper VI: Optional Paper I

Oral Board Interview

Mains Exam उत्तीर्ण करने वाले उम्मीदवारों को UPSC Board (Dholpur House, New Delhi) के समक्ष इंटरव्यू के लिए बुलाया जाता है। यह उम्मीदवार की बुद्धिमत्ता, नेतृत्व क्षमता और प्रशासनिक अभिरुचि (Administrative Aptitude) का आकलन करता है।
